I am a licensed clinical social worker.  I received my graduate training and have practiced most of my professional career at the University of California San Diego, serving an acutely and persistently mentally ill population.  In my private practice, I work with folks of all ages, from all walks of life. And I absolutely love it. 

I specialize in a whole person, integrative approach that fully considers the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of each unique life I have the honor of being a part of.  I cherish your individuality and look for creative ways to tailor our treatment to meet your goals. My goal is to help you gain lasting insights and coping skills.  My ultimate wish for you is that you grow to use these so effectively, you don't need me anymore! 

That's a little about me as a therapist. A little about me as a person...

 I grew up on the east coast, in the country, in a household of women. My interest/specialization in women's issues and women's groups likely has it's roots there. As does my love of nature and all things wild. As does my all time favorite past time of listening intently.

I've lived many lives. A dancer, an entrepreneur, a writer, a bartender, a food critic, a manual laborer- to name a few. I've had some struggles and I've learned some pretty vital lessons. (That's still happening every day, by the way!) I spend my days listening, teaching or doing yoga, traveling, quietly savoring beautiful wild places, and loving my loved ones fiercely.  I try and learn something new each day. I try to love everyone I come in contact with, even if it's just a little bit.  I try to be grateful, always. I try to be my best self.

I'm a highly trained listener with an extensive knowledge base regarding the human mind and how to treat mental health challenges. But first and foremost I am a human being. Just like you. I certainly don't have all the answers. But I do have some neat ways of helping you find YOUR answers.  And I can't wait to meet you.
